Soccer Player Development (SPD)
SPD is an cost free initiative that sets the foundation for youth soccer development in the metropolitan New York and north east region. Focused on elite level youth ages 9-13, SPD is not a club but a program structured to offer selected players a unique training environment, high quality competition, and specialized travel opportunities. SPD operates on the “Club Neutral” model where players remain with their club teams and augment their club training and games with SPD training and competitions. By aggregating the top players from the region, SPD facilitates a ‘talent hotbed’ for an efficient and intense learning environment leading to accelerate development.
The SPD curriculum is based on the Ajax philosophy and style of play. SPD teams have competed in national and international tournaments, trained with top academies including the Ajax Academy ‘De Toekomst’ and set the standard for positive self esteem on and off the field. SPD is the only North American partner of the Ajax Academy.
